My grave is:

afraid of the monsters
under the bed.

My grave is:

the shadows falling on my notebooks,
empty beer bottles and overfilled ashtrays.

My grave is:

in between the dust on
my mother’s baseboard.

My grave is on the floor:

the hair in my uncle’s barber shop,
peanut shells in Yankee Stadium,
summer vacation dandelions in sidewalk cracks.
